In 1970, Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, two students of the Düsseldorf Conservatory, decided to form a band and wrote the first album that took their name: Kraftwerk (translated means "power plant"). From duet it became a quartet, until reaching the peak of success between 1975 and 1981. Kraftwerk’s music is purposely minimalist and almost robotic. It is the result of a musical evolution over the years that comes closer to electronic music such as techno, house and industrial music.
